The Journal of Social Sciences and Economics (JSSE) ISSN 2958-1532 welcomes submissions of original research articles, reviews, and short communications in all areas of social sciences, economics, and related interdisciplinary fields.

    Types of Submissions

    Research Articles

    • Original theoretical or empirical studies.

    • Maximum length: 6,000 words (excluding tables, figures, and references).

    Review Articles

    • Critical and focused reviews on key or emerging topics.

    • Maximum length: 7,000 words.

    Short Communications / Perspectives

    • Brief reports of new findings or concise policy insights.

    • Maximum length: 3,000 words, limited to 2–3 tables/figures.

Manuscript Preparation

    • File Formats: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word or LaTeX.

    • Abstract: A concise summary of no more than 200 words.

    • Keywords: Provide up to 5 relevant keywords.

    • References: Follow APA 7th edition style. Ensure all in-text citations are included in the reference list and vice versa.

    • Tables and Figures: A maximum of 5 tables and 5 figures per manuscript. Each must include a clear title, description, and legend.

    • Cover Letter: All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter that:

      • Confirms the manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

      • Explains the novelty and significance of the work.

      • States that the work is not under review by another journal.

Submission Process

    • Online Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted through the Submission System.

    • Corresponding Author: Clearly designate one corresponding author with full details (name, institutional affiliation, and valid email address).

    • Suggested Reviewers: Authors are required to provide the details of at least three potential reviewers (name, institution, and email). Suggested reviewers must be experts in the field and have no conflict of interest with the authors.

    • Editorial Timeline: The average time from submission to first decision is typically 4–8 weeks.

Peer Review Policy

  • Single-blind review: Reviewers remain anonymous, while author identities are visible to reviewers.

  • Evaluation criteria: All submissions are assessed for originality, methodological rigor, clarity, and contribution to the field.

  • Editorial independence: The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision. In cases of potential conflict of interest, peer review is handled independently to ensure fairness and transparency.

Ethical Policies

Plagiarism

  • The journal follows a strict zero-tolerance policy.

  • All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.

  • The overall similarity index must be below 20%, with no single source exceeding 5%.

Human and Social Research Ethics

  • Research involving human participants, surveys, or interviews must adhere to recognized ethical standards (e.g., informed consent, confidentiality, and protection of participant privacy).

  • Authors are required to provide an Ethical Statement in their manuscript, including:

    • The name of the ethics committee/institutional review board and approval reference number (if applicable).

    • A statement confirming compliance with ethical principles where formal approval was not required.

Additional Policies

Conflicts of Interest

  • All potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed in the manuscript.

  • If none exist, authors must state: “Declarations of interest: none.”

Use of Generative AI

  • Generative AI tools may be used only for language editing under human oversight.

  • Authors must disclose such use in a dedicated section. Example:
    “During the preparation of this work, the authors used [tool name] for language editing. All content was reviewed, edited, and approved by the authors.”

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.

Data Sharing and Availability

  • JSSE encourages authors to make underlying research data openly accessible.

  • Repositories such as Zenodo, Figshare, Dryad, ICPSR, or institutional repositories may be used.

  • A Data Availability Statement must be included in the manuscript. Example:
    “The data supporting this study are available in Zenodo at DOI: [insert DOI/link].”

Authorship and Contributions

  • Authorship must be based on substantial scholarly contributions (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, analysis, drafting, or critical revision).

  • The CRediT taxonomy should be used to specify each author’s role.

  • Any changes in authorship (addition, removal, or rearrangement) require written approval from all authors and must be approved by the Editor-in-Chief.

Language and Style

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English (US or UK).

  • Inclusive language is mandatory: submissions must avoid bias, stereotypes, or discriminatory terms.

After Acceptance

  • Proofs will be sent to corresponding authors and must be returned with corrections within 2 days.

  • Articles are published online first immediately after acceptance and then included in the scheduled biannual issues (June and December).

Copyright and Licensing

  • JSSE publishes under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CC BY 4.0).

  • Authors retain copyright and full publishing rights without restrictions.
